Project Summary:

The House is sited on a property with access to a lake located directly to the east, with the length of the house running west to east and the primary facade facing south.

The main entry is a triple height atrium with a central stair. A sky light at the top of the stair bathes the stair in light, while a glass bridge crosses over the stair and atrium adding to the layers of space.  This entry sequence leads to the primary public spaces, the a double height living room, the dining room, kitchen and an out door deck (w/stairs down to the pool), all of which are located on the 2nd floor of the house in order to take advantage of the views to the east and south.

The living spaces, the en-suite master bedroom, a 2nd bedroom and office which share a bathroom, are located on the lower level and are accessed off of a hallway connected to the main entrance.  At the back of the house is a zero edge infinity pool facing the lake. Also located on the lower floor is a large play area which doubles as a garage.  On the west side of this space, facing the street, are large sliding metal and wood doors. On the east side of the play area, facing the lake, are floor to ceiling glass panels. When the sliding doors and glass panels are opened this lower portion of the house becomes a covered open air public space.

The main feature of the house is the water pools and water fall. The water pools are located on the south and east side of the house, both on the lower level and upper level. On the lower level small water pools wrap the house on the south facade with a large pool at the back on the east facing the lake. On the upper level, a 2nd series of water pools are located on the south and east facades. These upper pools are raised above the floor to the height of the window sills to provide the illusion with in the house that one is sitting with in a pool of water.(See Picture Below) Finally the upper pool has a zero edge on the east side which becomes a water fall spilling water into the pool below. (See Section drawings below)
